Alumni Stylist

Andrew McCormick

he/him

Andrew was a regular part of our guest artist program from October 2025-March 2026. He recently stepped back from cutting hair in the Hudson Valley in order to focus on building his NOMADSTUDIO in NYC and also now cuts hair out of Williamsburg’s Ludlow Blunt (where Richard worked in the mid 2010s). We wish Andrew luck as he pursues this exciting new direction. Find him at cutsbyandrew.com.

BIO:

Andrew started cutting hair at age 12 and basically hasn’t stopped since.

He went from his Aunt’s shop in Philadelphia, to the Saturn Club on UPenn’s (wild) West Philly campus, and eventually to NYC to apprentice at the legendary Bumble and bumble, where he specialized in cutting of all kinds.

Razor cutting, scissor cutting, clipper cutting, men’s cutting, women’s cutting, short hair, long hair, curly hair, textured hair, bobs, bangs, undercuts and every other kind of cut you can imagine, he cut it.

After 2 decades at Bb Andrew decided to go solo.

In 2023 he created the groundbreaking STUDIO_1 in the Rivertown of Irvington, NY.

2 years later he cofounded a city version of his studio concept with NOMAD_STUDIO in the heart of NYC.

For a change of scenery, Andrew started traveling to the (lower) Hudson Valley periodically to work with his old friend Richard at Cold Spring’s Barber and Brew.

It went so well that he followed Richard to Beacon to bring his hair sculpture skills to The Chisel.

Andrew loves music, architecture & interior design, food and being in nature as much as he loves cutting hair-and that’s saying something!

Experience a unique cut with Andrew. You won’t regret it.
